Rodney A. Baker, B. Comm. CFP CLU
Investment Advisor, Manulife Securities Incorporated
President and Life Insurance Agent, Headwaters Financial Group Ltd.
Telephone: 1-519-833-4433, extension 24
With an extensive education in finance, economics and marketing from the Universities of Windsor and Western Ontario, along with Georgian College, Rod was destined to a career in financial services. The varied part-time jobs along the way also helped him to relate to the many different personalities of clients and co-workers.
Originally hired and trained by London Life in 1998, Rod continued his education and achieved the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation in 2000. He draws on the opinions of many investment fund managers, industry authors and respected peers to steer his own opinions and strategies. He obtained the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation in 2012.
Rod prides himself on the many quality relationships that he has, but is most proud of his 3 great kids. The small town of Erin is the perfect backdrop for their active lifestyle. Within his own backyard, Rod has been championed master skating-rink-maker by his son, and highest-trampoline-jumper by his two daughters. He can also be seen cycling, hiking or skiing on the extensive trail system within the Headwaters Region. The game of golf remains a mystery to him, but he hopes to one day break 100 again.

Having graduated from Sheridan College’s 3 year business program in 2002, and influenced by a few gifted instructors, Mike became intrigued with financial planning. Naturally he continued his studies, and graduated with honours in the Professional Financial Planning course. Ready to start his career in 2003, he promptly joined Freedom 55 Financial where he later met Rod. Shortly after, they would team up to form a financial duo, only slightly less fantastic than Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger.
Education has been a career-long quest for Mike….but definitely only as a student. A brief stint as a college instructor gave him a much greater appreciation for his professors. He achieved the CFP designation in 2005 and is continuing his studies with his sights set on the CIM designation, or Chartered Investment Manager. Mike brings an analytical view to our group, specializing in portfolio analysis and intergenerational wealth transfer.
Be it summer or winter, you will find Mike and his family up north. Camping provides him the opportunity to show off his MacGyver skills to anyone willing to watch. While in “the city”, he keeps active swimming, playing hockey and exploring Oakville’s extensive trail system by bike and foot. Nothing brings a smile to his face more than spending time with his daughter.

Who knew that previous careers in travel and decorating would lead Debra down the path of financial services? Associated with Manulife Securities offices since 2005, she has become a vital part of our firm. Industry-related education is the course of action on route to becoming a fully-licensed assistant.
Most of her personality traits can be attributed to being a “Sudbury girl”. Outdoor activities trump the gym (except when it’s minus 30), and no home improvement is too big for Debra to handle. Don’t let her size fool you; she’s a kick-boxer, don’t you know!
Living with her husband not far from Erin, she enjoys frequent visits from their 2 adult sons and their growing family.
